An Update on Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

Fungible means that something can be traded for itself. For example, you can trade one BTC for another BTC, you can trade a dollar for another dollar, and you can trade a one-ounce gold coin for another one-ounce gold coin.

Non-fungible means that you cannot trade something for itself. For example, Leonardo DaVinci’s Mona Lisa painting is non-fungible—you can’t trade it for another Mona Lisa.

NFTs or non-fungible tokens are blockchain-minted artworks with unique encryption codes which allow for verified authenticity and ownership. An NFT can represent anything from a digital art piece to a song or cartoon, sports card, or a whole album. Even fashion designers are getting in on the NFT craze.

More than 509,000 NFT artworks were sold in March 2021 alone, totaling more than $85 million in sales so it's kind of a big deal. If you want, you could draw a stickman on a sticky note, take a picture of it and upload the jpeg as an NFT.

Elon Musk’s girlfriend, Grimes, a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer learned about NFTs recently. As a result, she promoted one on Twitter and then made $6 million selling it in about 20 minutes.

Here’s a list of 15 NFT developers who have sold over $5 million in NFTs (from https://gothammag.com/top-selling-nft-artists):

Beeple (Mike Winkelmann)

Trevor Jones

18-year-old FEWOCIOUS

PAK who is anonymous but has produced digital work for two decades

Mad Dog Jones (Michah Dowbak)

SlimeSunday (Mike Parisella)

Hackatao

XCopy

3Lau (Justin Blau) - DJ, and fintech aficionado. All of his music is now being released as NFTs

Grimes - singer, composer, and record producer (and Elon Musk’s girlfriend)

WhIsbe - a street artist who has made gummy bears into NFTs

SSX3Lau - (this title is for two people, a DJ, and an art director)

Jose Delbo - at least a famous artist for such things as Wonder Woman and Little Lulu

RTFKT Studios - a collective of artists that create digital skins that can be worn by digital characters in the metauniverse

Bosslogic - (Kode Adoba) – a graphic designer from Australia

To make an NFT, you simply have to create something unique and upload it to a site such as Rarable, OpenSea, or Mintable. As I said, you could draw a stick man on a sticky note, take a photo of it and then upload the photo to one of these sites and you have your first NFT. But good luck selling it.

To me, NFTs sound crazy. I’d rather own a tulip bulb or a beanie baby, however, for those of you looking for infinite wealth, study the field a little bit and perhaps you can start selling NFTs for $5,000 each.

Annual forecast for Standard Chartered (2021)

Standard Chartered Plc stock (LSE:STAN) has been quite choppy and trendless for most part of this year. However, it can be seen that the movement propensity is to the upside, upon a closer look.

4 EMAs are used for this analysis and they are EMAs 10, 20, 50 and 200. The color that stands for each EMA is shown at the top right part of the chart.

The EMAs are sloping upwards, although not strongly. The market is below the EMAs 10, 20, and 50, but the bias on the market will remain bullish as long as the EMA 200 is not breached to the downside

It is highly likely that price would go above the EMAs 50 and 20 again, because another bullish round is expected soon.  STAN will aim the supply levels at 450.00, 500.00 and 550.00 this year as the market goes upwards and the movement becomes more clearly directional.

Annual forecast for Alibaba (2021)

Alibaba Group Holding Limited shares (NYSE:BABA) are essentially weak. The recent bullish attempt that was started in January 2021, got halted in February, and since then, price has been coming down.

In this market, any rallies should simply be taken as opportunities to go short in the market. Price has gone below the lower Trendline and it is expected to trend lower and lower.

The RSI period 14 is around the level 40, further supporting the bearishness in the market. It is not yet prudent to go long in this market, for further journey to the south is anticipated.

The outlook on BABA remains bearish for this year and price could reach the demand levels at 200.00, 175.00 and 150.00.

Why calling for Better Nigeria and Not Better Nigerians?

The Benin Republic is poorer than Nigeria, the citizens aren't as "enlightened" as most Nigerians living in the cities but they aren't lawless.

They are law-abiding!

You dare not beat any traffic lights in Cotonou.

Bicycles stop at traffic intersections...

If the Gendarmerie blow their whistle, you must stop; you will stop immediately.

You won't move because the consequences will befall you immediately.

Nigeria is the only place where people give all sorts of excuses for lawlessness.

From Igholo, Port Novo, Cotonou, Oidah down to Ilakondji, you will see orderliness, bikes remain on the bike lane on the express, they take responsibility, but Nigerians want a good country solely by the government and citizens are never at fault, everything and complaint is government!!!!!!!!!

In Lome, you can't have 4 passengers on your back seat in your car, all bike drivers put on a helmet, customers pay as high as 35k CFA for electricity monthly, but here we want everything free, we disobey all laws but cry at enforcement, we love our lawlessness but want a better country. 🤡🤡🤡

If we don't become better citizens, we won't produce better leaders because they will keep emerging from us.

We just want them to do everything, why must the government be arresting people for a pedestrian bridge instead of using sense?

Why throw dirt on road but expect it cleaned by the government???

We think Responsibility is for the leaders only!!!!

The followers have no responsibilities!!!!

The majority of Nigerians just expect to find themselves in a safe environment while they remain insane

Law-abiding Nigerians will make a better Nigeria

#Change begins with me.

Copied from a friend's wall.
