Skype Moves to Teams: Time-sensitive message

Hello Traders.

If you’re using Skype; especially if we’re connected together on Skype, please note that Skype will be decommissioned at the end of this month of May.

Please let us continue communicating on Teams.

You can use your same Skype login details to access Teams on your mobile phone and/on their website.

More info is below, from Microsoft, the owner of Skype and Teams

----------------------------------------------

Dear Skype user,

In order to streamline our free consumer communications offerings, we will be retiring Skype on May 5, 2025 to focus on Microsoft Teams, our modern communications and collaboration hub.

Teams helps people stay connected and engaged at work and at home. Teams users have access to many of the same core features as Skype, including 1:1 calls, group calls, messaging, and file sharing. Additionally, Teams offers enhanced features like hosting meetings, managing calendars, and building and joining communities—all for free.

Here’s what this means for you.

You can transition to Microsoft Teams for free: Starting today, you can log into Microsoft Teams Free on any supported device using your Skype credentials and your contacts and chats will automatically be transferred. You will also receive a notification in the Skype app over the coming days prompting you to take action.

Moving to Teams is simple and doesn’t prevent you from continuing to use Skype during the transition period.
