“He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from
calamity.” – Proverbs 21:23. Why don’t you stop using your mouth as a ladder to
the wicked people by broadcasting yourself?
Before you speak, ask yourself these questions:
- Is it true? If it’s not true, shut up.
- Is it kind? If what you want to say is unkind, shut up.
- Does it edify? Is it compulsory to make yourself a local BBC
or CNN? Does that put food on your table?
- Is it necessary? If it isn’t necessary, shut up. I just bought
this helicopter. I bought these shoes from Scandinavia. My daughter is
going to Cambridge. Who asks you these questions?
- Is it godly?
- Will it hurt anybody? If it’s going to hurt somebody, shut up!
- Will it improve on the silence? If you see that silence is
better, keep silent.
